In addition to revising the PUD Law, the Town Board has also embarked on updating our Comprehensive Plan – the document that codifies our vision for the future and impacts on all aspects of life in Liberty – from infrastructure to the environment. Roads, emergency services (including police, fire departments and ambulance services), housing availability, home values and affordability, maintaining healthy aquifers with adequate water table levels and water quality, natural resources like lakes, rivers, forests, and green spaces – all these things will all be affected by this update.
According to the U.S Census Bureau data from 2019, Liberty has a population of approximately 9,885 people and it is increasing rapidly. All of us are stakeholders in the Comprehensive Plan and should have the opportunity to contribute to the process of creating our collective future.
The Town Supervisor has announced the formation of a number of committees to oversee this process, and Liberty Town Matters aims to be closely involved at all stages.
